Our story began in 1853 in Le Locle,
Switzerland, where Charles-Felicien
Tissot and son Charles-Emile created
a watch-making company bearing their
name. From day one, relentless
innovative spirit and dedication to
fine craftsmanship formed the
brand’s distinctive identity. From
its first pocket watch with two
time-zones in 1853, to its
revolutionary tactile T-Touch watch,
Tissot has produced many “firsts” in
terms of technology, materials and
design. Featuring on this impressive
list are the world’s first watches
in plastic, stone and wood.
In 1858 Charles-Emile Tissot left Le
Locle for Russia and successfully
sold Tissot savonnette pocket
watches across this huge and
influential empire. The
international approach continued.
The brand’s Swiss-made watches are
now worn in 150 countries across 5
continents, thanks to its 16,000
points of sales worldwide. In 1983,
Tissot joined the Swatch Group and
is today the company with the
highest productivity in the
traditional Swiss watch industry. |
